FAQ

What are 3D Print Freedom’s principles?

We run our operation according to three principles:

  1. Better Kits
  2. Better Information
  3. Better Service

Better kits:

As builders, we care about making our kits complete and high-quality. Our customers will not suffer the annoyance of purchasing a kit only to find that, without warning, required parts are still missing.

We put significant care into our part quality, in details big (ensuring that we provide the right hardware, not just the cheapest) and small (we strive for good finish, good deburring, good postprocessing on every part). Sometimes this makes our kits a little more expensive. To us, this is worth it.

Better service:

Our goal is to help you complete your build successfully. To us, this means shipping you your purchase promptly and providing whatever service is necessary to get your build functioning. If you have questions, ask us. If something isn’t working right, let us know. We’ll be there to respond as soon as possible.

We are in the community helping to develop new builds and support existing ones. If you have a build you’d like us to help with, or to develop a kit for, reach out. That’s what we do here.

Better information

The fundamental challenge of 3D2A has always been providing adequate documentation and context to allow any builder to get their project working. As a parts kit company, we do all we can to help with that. Our kits always ship with a detailed BOM describing each included part – its metrics, its quantity and its intended use. You’ll never be confused about what part goes where.

We make all these BOMs available for free on our website. Yes, this means that you can download our BOM and part your own kit together. Be our guest. We believe in free information, and not in making money through secrecy.

Who is 3D Print Freedom?

We are one of the very first parts kits companies founded in the 3D printed defense space. We first opened in 2021 and since then we have striven to provide high quality completion kits for the space.

We are builders and designers ourselves. We regularly participate in betas, sometimes as 3DPF and sometimes simply as personal builders looking to contribute and have fun.

Is it legal to purchase 3D Print Freedom’s products?

Most products that 3D Print Freedom sells are not firearms – they are parts kits, collections of unregulated parts, which it is legal to ship straight to your door.

You are responsible for determining whether it is legal to build a firearm in your jurisdiction using 3D Print Freedom’s parts kit.

Some jurisdictions do ban certain types of parts kits – 3D Print Freedom complies with these restrictions and disallows shipping banned kits to them.

Any firearm sold by 3D Print Freedom is shipped via standard FFL transfer.

How quickly does 3D Print Freedom ship?

We endeavor to ship within 72 hours of order placement, preferably even more quickly. Sometimes we may be unable to meet this goal – in these cases, we email and inform customers with an estimated shipment time.

Where does 3D Print Freedom ship?

At this time, 3D Print Freedom ships solely to US persons at US addresses. We perform due diligence to comply with all federal and state regulations.

How does 3D Print Freedom ensure user privacy?

3D Print Freedom uses industry-standard encryption to protect customer data both in transit and at rest. No credit card details or other payment information is stored at 3D Print Freedom.

Standard customer records are maintained post-purchase in order to provide customer service (refunds, product questions, etc.) – if a customer wishes for this data to be removed, please email customersupport@3dprintfreedom.com with this request.

We maintain a warrant canary in our website footer. Please keep an eye on the canary at all times.

Will 3D Print Freedom develop a parts kit for me?
